Essert Romand
With views of Morzine and opposite Montriond, Essert-Romand is situated on a large, lush plateau. The village, at 938 metres, gets lots of sunshine too.
The name Essert-Romand comes from the Latin “Essartum Romanorum”, indicating that it was cleared and prepared by the Romans (who may have settled in the village during Julius Cesar’s reign). Today, it is a super holiday destination. Don’t forget to try: the walk up to Graydon and its chapel.
